Puppies are cute, playful and are a pleasure to add to any household. The entire family will be excited when bringing home a new puppy. Puppies can be a challenge, so you will really want to think about the commitment involved before choosing a dog, as it is a big responsibility over many years.
Puppies need to be trained just like older dogs so that they are obedient and listen to your commands. Puppies make wonderful company for people of all ages and are enjoyed by every family member. Depending on the breed of puppy that you choose, they may be easier or harder for you to train. A puppy’s nature will have a lot to do with how fast they catch on to your training. Some dogs will be stubborn in the beginning and will take longer to train. When they learn your commands and what you expect from them things will start to get easier.
When you train your new puppy, have patience because they are just starting to learn and will continue to learn, as they get older. If you have a lot of time to train them each day they will probably learn very quickly. If you do not have a lot of time to train them, then it may take a while longer for them to catch on to your training commands.
Your puppy will need a lot of attention during the day so that they do not become bored and get destructive in your home. A puppy may only pay attention to you for a short period of time so try not to have any distractions around when you are training them.
When first training your new puppy start out with simple obedience training. This training should consist of commands like heel, sit, stay, come, fetch and other simple commands that are easy for them to understand. As they get older, you can add other commands to their training that are a little more difficult.
Training a puppy can be easy when teaching them while they are young. They want to please their owners and are willing to do just about anything it takes. If you do not train your dog when they are young they may be out of control later and that is something that you will not want to deal with. Some people choose to use training aids, such as dog training collars, when trying to train their new puppy. It is up to each individual on what methods to use when training their pet. The most important thing is whatever training method that you use your puppy does well and understands the commands that you give them.
