Using an Elizabethan dog collar is a safe and humane method of preventing animals from aggravating a healing wound or injury. Sometimes called a space collar, e-collar or cone collar, an Elizabethan dog collar is cone shaped and helpful for keeping your dog from licking, chewing or biting at wounds, hot spots and sutures. The padded neckline adds extra comfort.

While using an elizabethan dog collar, you'll want to be sure that your dog is still able to easily reach his or her water and food dishes, and that he is able to walk around the room and/or house with ease.
