Installing the CatStop is easy, you simply insert a 9 volt battery into the device and locate it in an area that you want cats to avoid. There are no settings to adjust, there is a built-in motion detector that will pick up any cat coming into the area and give off a high-decibal alarm that is piercing to cats. This will startle the cat and frighten it away fro m the area. Because ultrasonic tones can't normally be heard by humans, the unit won't disturb you or your neighbors.
